Chicks to Go is a funky spot in Rockaway that is pumping out some terrific Peruvian food.   The star is the rotisserie chicken marinated for hours in herbs and spices, and then cooked to perfection.  That might explain the line out the door and a table full of hipsters feasting at a single sharing table.  And you can't beat the price for the quality.

We ordered a whole bird ($12) for sharing, but you can also order it by the half ($7) or quarter ($4).   A combo plate is the best way to go.  It comes with two sides and a fresh avocado salad.   All of the food we tasted, from the chicken dripping with goodness to crispy tostones (fried green plaintains), was excellent.  Be sure to ask for extra green or red sauce for dipping along with napkins.  You'll want more of both.  Other sides include rice and beans, crispy fries, sweet plantains and yucca.  The restaurant is also selling salads and antojitos or Peruvian snacks, including empanadas, salchipappa (pan-fried sausage and potatoes), quinoa salad (with or without chicken) and Peruvian yellow potato.  Ice cold Inca Cola with it's signature golden color is also available by the can.

Chicks to Go is fantastic, and with the location just a block from the ocean, it's a great spot to stock up for a picnic on the beach.
