Chouxbox (pronounced shoo-box) is a sweet spot on Lexington Avenue. It is also where you will find tempting French-inspired desserts. Choux is the dough used to make the flaky pastry for cream puffs and eclairs. Behind the glass counter you will find an assortment of both; eclairs in electric green and neon orange, along with chocolate, hazelnut and lemon meringue. Cream puffs come filled with chocolate, vanilla and caramel cream. Macarons, croissants and canelés are also sold here. So are "chouxwiches," sandwiches made with choux bread ranging from roast turkey and fried chicken to smoked salmon and steak & eggs. Chouxbox is a lovely shop where it appears care is given to every detail, including friendly service. - Thomas Rafael
