Devon on the Lower East Side is reinventing itself with a new bar and dining room. The restaurant, run by brothers Oliver and Sasha zabar, tapping Chef Harry Cummins (of Frenchie in Paris and Mercerie in Marseille) to create a new menu of sharable dishes. Starters include Comte Crisps with Onion Jam and Anchovies, and Baby Eggplant with Sweet Miso Glaze. Small plates like Pizza Fritta with whipped ricotta and mortadella are offered, as well as, Maine Crab Toast with Jonah Crab and fennel salad. Larger plates range from Pork Katsu with mushroom ketchup and shallot jam to Fried Chicken with Szechuan sauce and pickled jalapeno. Memphis is the inspiration for the space which includes a lively cocktail bar and curvy banquettes in pastel colors.
