When you walk into district you know you're entering someplace special. Outside the restaurant has an art deco look. Inside, pastel tones, quilted wall coverings and large oval mirrors give the place classy feel.Review By: Benny Prim
But while the restaurant looks upscale, as the name suggests, District caters to the theatre crowd offering a $42 prix fixe, three-course meal. Although, if you stray it will cost you.
I did, opting for the lobster/king crab appetizer that came with two humongous shrimps. The seafood is super fresh and prepared perfectly, making it a pleasure to eat.
I was not as impressed with my main course; four slices of lamb served on a bed of almond
cous cous surrounded by carrots and sugar snap peas. The meat was so rare I was wondering if the lamb was still alive. I'd go with the sirloin steak, but watch out for the $10 surcharge.
Service is very good, but all the waiters are dressed in black. At one point I thought I was being served by a ninja.
The dessert menu is rather sparse and features a warm chocolate cake and key lime pie. A gift bag of candies offers some treats for the show.
