Details:

The flavors of Greece are found at Fournos Theophilos in Midtown Manhattan. Named after a Greek painter, the restaurant and bakery draws its inspiration from the rich history, culture and arts of Greece from Macedonia in the north to Crete in the south. Signature dishes are inspired by local Greek recipes and include a Cretan Greek Salad with fresh and sundried tomatoes, Greek fleur del sol, cucumber vinaigrette and xinomizithra cheese; Braised Lamb Leg & Chickpeas with crispy pancetta, mint yogurt sauce, and lemon confit; and Boneless Short Rib & Santorini Sun Dried Tomatoes with throubi and honey. Breakfast brings pancake-shaped pies filled with Greek cheeses and honey, and Wild Fennel Pie, a delicate pastry filled with onion and spinach. Fournos Theophilos also features an all-day yogurt bar and Greek market with with everything from olives and spreads to jams and cheeses. The bi-level space, which seats up to 80 guests, also showcases Greek art.
