GRK Fresh Greek is expanding with a new flagship location in New York City’s Flatiron District. This will be the concept’s third Manhattan store (Midtown East/FiDi) and seventh location overall (others include stores in Washington, D.C and Dubai, with two units opening in Qatar).
Developed by Founder/CEO George Nikas, the menu offers “fresh-casual” Greek dishes on authentic Yeeros – hand-layered, marinated and spit-roasted premium meats (Lamb & Beef, Chicken or Pork) – as well as “Grillers” (GRK Meatballs, Chicken Souvlaki, or Portobello), which are marinated and grilled against an open flame. Many of the offerings at GRK are sourced directly from Greece – and the recipes follow an “Old World Meets New World” sensibility. Other menu staples include Orzo Bowls; fresh Salads (Greek; Kale; Lentil; Sesame) and Soups (Chicken Avgolemono; Lentil), as well as a selection of house made Sides (Seasoned Fries; Aegean Slaw; Brown Rice; Tzatziki Sampler; Side Salad; Giant Beans). Exciting new menu additions, exclusive to the Flatiron location, will be Lamb Chops, which are marinated in Greek yogurt, olive oil and herbs, and served char-grilled over turmeric brown rice; as well as fresh-baked Spanakopita (Spinach and Feta Cheese Pie); and Baklava (layered dessert of phyllo dough, chopped walnuts and Greek honey).
GRK also offers house-made frozen or fresh authentic Greek yogurt, available in a variety of signature combinations (Greek Honey/Walnuts; Baklava Topped Sundae; Rose Petal/Toasted Almonds; Salted Caramel/Pasteli Sesame Honey Bites). The design is a nod to Greek culture featuring bright whites, vibrant blues and pale wood tones.
SPECIAL PROMOTION: GRK Fresh will be offering their authentic Yeeros, served on house-baked pita, for $3 – available every day of their opening week (Friday, 3/31 – Friday, 4/7/17).
