Fish lovers will love Gloria. The restaurant, in Hell's Kitchen, is run by three partners - executive chef Diego Garcia (formerly of Le Bernardin and Contra), sommelier Phil Johnson, and general manager Leland Meilbeyer. Together they have created a modern space that caters to your every need from designer cocktails to some of the freshest fish you'll find in the city. Start with a round of buttery corn bread spiked with jalapeno.  It's a must-have. As is the Jonah Crab with kohlrabi and bouillabaisse sabayon. It's dramatic in its presentation with ample crab for sharing or you may want to keep an order for yourself. Other appetizers include fluke tartare with daikon, finger lime and xo sauce; crispy octopus with braised red cabbage and black rice; and chilled Maine sea scallops with toasted buckwheat and a yuzu emulsion. Larger plates include grilled bacalao, whole wild sea bass with a shallot lobster sauce, and head-on shrimp with creamy grits drizzled with a shrimp broth. While some walk-ins are accepted, reservations are strongly suggested. 3 and 4-course prix fixe options are also available. See more
