NYC Restaurants

It's funny how when it comes to "green eating" or dining at a restaurant that is themed "green", we sometimes automatically assume the food is going to be great and the workers are going to be super friendly non-meat eating individuals with superior customer service (does everyone else assume this, or is it just me?) Well, assuming that I am not the only one that thinks this way, I'm here to tell you that this is not always the case.

While looking for dinner in Manhattan recently, I learned my lesson about
"green" eating. Prior to this, most of my "green" experiences have been
pleasant. Restaurants that deem themselves "green" have provided me with
healthy nutritious food and great atmospheres, until my experience at the
Green Cafe.

From the outside, the Green Cafe looked like a great place to grab
something to eat. After checking checking things out a bit I settled on a
combo meal that included a salmon burger, french fries and a drink all for
$6.99. While I wasn't expecting the best salmon I've ever had in my life,
I was expecting a decent meal and pleasant customer service, after all,
this was the "green" cafe. Instead I got an overcooked salmon burger, a
healthy portion of dry, okay tasting french fries and poor customer
service. Needless to say, I probably won't be visiting Green Cafe again.
