NYC Restaurants

Riding on the success of Hanoi House, restaurateurs Sara Leveen and Ben Lowell have opened Hanoi Soup Shop next door. The space is inviting with exposed brick, subway tiles and wood plank floors. The restaurant seats about a dozen people at a counter. Large bowls of Pho are offered with choice of brisket, oxtail, shin, tongue and ribeye or a combination of two or three. A vegetarian option is also available with pea leaves, celery root, woodear mushrooms and ramps. A classic banh mi sandwich is offered along with summer rolls filled with pork, shrimp or tofu. Drinks include Vietnamese coffee, Hanoi egg coffee and iced lychee tea. Hanoi Soup Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30am to 4 pm.
