EmailHelen’s lands in the Meatpacking District, a sexy new bar paying homage to its East Asian roots. The subterranean space is filled with larger-than-life statues. The first thing you will notice is a lengthy bar with ornate wood carvings above it. It sits adjacent to a lounge area with maroon banquettes and a giant carving of a lotus blossom. Hidden behind it is a private space for party tucked away from the crowds with its own hidden entranceway. Drinks come with names like China Doll, Lost in Tokyo, Pearls of the. Orient, and Mandarin High Ball. The menu features bar bites like Pork Chashu Buns, Takiyaki and Beef Potstickers served from a dim sum cart. Helen’s is a welcome addition to the area’s late night club scene.
