Henry at Life Hotel is a modern bistro in NoMad. It's also the first project by industry veteran Stephen Hanson since leaving his BR Guest Hospitality empire in 2013. At the helm of this intimate, 60-seat restaurant is Executive Chef Michael Vignola formerly of the Strip House, Aquavit and The Modern. Vignola's shareable menu includes starters like Oysters with cranberry-chile mignonette, Wild Striped Bass Crudo and Shrimp & Group Sausage. Heartier plates include Dry Aged Beef Tartare with malt chips, and a Hudson Valley Foie Gras Slider with concorde grape and pickled apple. Pizzas from a wood-burning oven include Pizza Bianca with black pepper ricotta, potatoes and Truffle Temor cheese. There are house pastas, a New York Strip and Crispy Whole Scorpion Fish. Specialty cocktails have names like the Mumbai Slugger and Dirty Times. The space, by designer Tara Oxley, features copper and brass topped tables. It is illuminated by an intricate lighting fixture inspired by a computer motherboard. You will find it inside the iconic LIFE building. See more
