Details:
Chef Oscar Toro, who had stints at Del Posto, Sushi Samba and Buddakan, is the force behind this modern Chinese spot inside the former Limelight space. It's named after the 1930s Jue Lan Society in Shanghai which, according to the restaurant's website, means "determination to create change." That change begins with the modern Chinese cuisine, including braised oxtail sloppy bao buns, duck salad, Peking-style duck and Hot & Numbing crispy beef. Noodle dishes abound along with dim sum; bone marrow and prawn dumplings, crab and pork soup dumplings, and lobster spring rolls to name a few.
