Kebab Empire in Hell’s Kitchen is specializing in Uyghur cuisine from China and Central Aisia. The menu includes an assortment of kebabs spiced heavily with cumin and other herbs. Choices range from beef, chicken and lamb to shrimp and vegetable kebabs. The kebabs are served in wooden bowls with flatbread, salad and rice laced with carrots and raisins. The kebabs which arrive on long metal skewers can be ordered three to a plate or individually. Lamb shank, stews and vegetarian options are also available. Baklava and dried fruits are served for dessert. The restaurant says the goal is to spread Uyghur culture around the world one bite at a time.
