Cititour Review:

I enjoy a good sense of humor.  That's why I was drawn, in part, to Kobeque at the 32nd Street Food Gallery in K-Town.  For starters, black fedoras are part of the uniform.  It's sort of like having the Blues Brothers serve you.  They're also not using gimmicks to lure you in, unlike the stall next door, where the women kept yelling, "Hi, how are you?" to every customer that walked in.  She had a very high pitched voice, so it was funny when one of the guys at Kobeque started mimicking her.  Even she got a kick out of it.

The other reason to go, of course, is the food.  As you might expect, Kobe beef is the star at Kobeque, although spicy pork, grilled chicken, bulgogi and shrimp are also offered.  I ordered the short rib combo.  The ribs are cooked to order and rival what you might find at some of the larger Korean restaurants in the area.  The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender.  It's served with a bowl of white rice and a side salad with an addictive sesame dressing.  You also get to pick three sides, including things like pickled daikon, creamy cole slaw and sliced jalapeno peppers.  I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and used my rice to sop up any extra juices.

Kobeque = Good food and good attitude.
