All-day Japanese restaurant Konbini (312 Fifth Avenue, 32 St and Fifth Ave) can now be found in K-Town. Chef/Owner Sarah Kang based it on her travels to Japan. Breakfast and lunch sets are offered by day with an Izakaya-style restaurant by night. Breakfast brings sandwiches like the Eggbini with scrambled eggs and cheese on house-baked brioche. Diners can also add their favorites like bacon, ham, avocado or sausage. Lunch includes things like grilled fish, Japanese-style hot pot and Menchi Katsu Nabe made with breaded, deep fried pork, poached egg and udon. During late night there are savory pancakes like oyster okonomiyaki as well as gyozas, karaage, katsu and donburi bowls. Soju cocktails, sake and Sapporo on tap are also available. >>
