Gadi Peleg, founder of Breads Bakery, is bringing his passion for the flavors of his childhood to Lamalo at the Arlo Hotel in NoMad. The modern Middle Eastern feast begins with an assortment of dips and spreads, along with Laffa, a Jerusalem flatbread that is made to order. Signature dishes incude Shabtai-style fish with chickpea batter and tomato salsa, Slow-Roasted Short Rib served on the bone, and Grilled Octopus with preserved lemon. Cocktails served in a traditional "Bakbook" are also meant for sharing and feature Arak, a Middle Eastern spirit. They inlcude "Good Vibrations" made with Arak, grapefruit, lemon and mint. Along with Lamalo, Peleg's team is also managing a rooftop lounge where guests can enjoy a drink while waiting for a table.
