NYC Restaurants

Amanda Cohen, of Dirt Candy fame, now has a burger joint under her belt. With her business partner, Andrea Kerzner, they've opened Lekka Burger (81 Warren St) in Tribeca. The restaurant is bright and cheery with a large counter, murals, sharing table and open kitchen. Unlike the Beyond Meat craze, these burgers are made with a mix of beans and mushrooms formed into a thick patty. It's served with lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickles on a house-made sesame seed bun. It's quite the handful. In all, five different burgers are sold including a cheeseburger, peri peri burger, masala burger and guacamole burger. Several types of fries and salads are offered, including a Cauliflower Waldorf with apples, celery, grapes and pecans. The salad alone is worth a visit! For dessert, there's soft-serve ice cream and shakles with varioous toppings. Cocktails, wine and beer are also on tap.
