Li-Lac Chocolates has been undergoing a broad expansion, with new shops popping up at Grand Central and Chelsea Market, along with a huge manufacturing facility (which also offers retail) at Industry City in Brooklyn. At the Chelsea shop we spotted an enticing selection of hand-made chocolates like peanut clusters, caramel truffles, cordial cherries and a personal favorite, dark chocolate nonpareils. Around the holidays look for chocolate bunnies, Santas and heart-shaped boxes for Valentine's Day to emerge. Li-Lac Chocolates bills itself as New York's oldest chocolate house getting its start in Greenwich Village in 1923.
