Details:

Brooklyn now has its very own clam shack. Littleneck opening on Third Avenue near Carroll Street in the heart of Gowanus, but don't worry the seafood's not coming from the canal. Partners Aaron Lefkove, Andy Curtin and Charlie Moody are cooking up steamers with garlic, beer and chile (P/A), as well as an Ipswitch clam roll ($16) and a Maine lobster roll ($18). And what would a clam shack be without New England clam chowder ($7). Helping in the kitchen is Alan Harding who created some of Brooklyn's hottest restaurants, including the Gowanus Yacht Club, Patois and The Farm on Adderly. And while you're chowing down on your fresh clams you can also down a few brews. There are five beers on tap, including Greenport Harbor Ale, Captain Lawrence Smoked Porter and Keegan Mother's Milk Stout. You'll also find bottled beer and a nice, yet modest, selection of wine. The folks at Littleneck hope to roll out a full menu in the coming weeks, along with lunch and brunch. But for now enjoy some happy hour and deep fried clams Brooklyn-style. - Thomas Rafael Oct 26, 2011
