Los Mariscos, an offshoot of Los Tacos No. 1 at Chelsea Market, is a festive seafood stand serving tacos, ceviche and cocteles. Fish dominates here starting with a complimentary cup of warm shrimp broth. Ceviche is made fresh with shrimps, oysters, clams, scallops and octopus served on a crispy tortilla. Add a splash of lime and it is among the best tasting ceviche in the city for an astounding price of just six dollars. It also comes in a fish or shrimp version. Tacos are equally impressive and cheap, especially the fish tacos topped with fresh salsa, crunchy slices of cabbage and two sauces, including one that packs a bit of heat. You can also get seafood cocteles served up like a hot fudge sundae. Other cocktails are also available, including margaritas. All of this may explain the crowds jamming into this tiny spot with just a few tables and counter space. You will want to jam in too!
