For a restaurant that’s just opened, Loulou feels like it’s been there for years. Located on a sunny corner on Tenth Avenue on West 19th Street, the space boasts a classy marble bar, exposed wood beams and hardwood floors. The food is French bistro fare. Think Steak Frites with bearnaise sauce with addictive hand-cut fries; Crispy Pork Belly and Seared Scallops with apple purée; and the Lou Lou Burger made with grass-fed beef, cheddar and caramelized onions. Assorted flat breads are also offered along with small plates of duck confit, lamb chops and grilled artichokes for sharing. The signature drink is a fruity tequila number served in a glass shaped like a canary that‘s garnished with a jalapeño slice and orchid flower. It will have you chirping with delight. >>
