Mandato Grocery and Bakery is everything Mexico. It's also a great spot to pick up everything from meats and cheeses to sausages and Mexican herbs. The bakery, meanwhile, offers an assortment of Mexican pastries and colorful cakes filled with dulce de leche. On weekends, you can find homemade Mexican specialties like tamales. A small batch is usually offered in the mornings, but if you arrive past 9am you will probably be out of luck. In the afternoon, you will find Mexican specialties. Sometimes it might be a fish soup and other times giant quesadillas. The quesadilla we tried took up an entire plate filled with pulled chicken, cotija cheese, hot sauce and avocada crema. It's one of the best quesadillas we've tried and truly authentic.
