The babka at Michaeli Bakery on the Lower East Side is heavenly. It comes in several flavors, including poppy seed and chocolate, and one bite of this light and airy cake will have you sold. Maybe because the person making it, Adir Michaeli, used to be the top pastry chef at Breads. Now, Michaeli has his own shop serving up everything from challah bread and log cakes to cheese-filled burekas, Nutella rugelach, and cookies. Coffee drinks are also available with counter seating available for six guests.
