Details: Cuba comes to Gowanus with My Cuban Spot located just off Third Avenue on Carroll Street. This tiny spot is quickly becoming a favorite for locals lining up for its home-style Cuban cuisine. There are beef empanadas, ham "heaven" croquettes and pork crack-lins (aka chicharron). The star is the Cubano, dubbed "The Boss." It's made with pulled pork, ham, Swiss, pickles and mustard served on pressed Cuban bread slathered with garlic butter. It is a terrific sandwich and huge. Other offerings include "Some Bread & Steak" with lettuce, tomato, mayo, sautéed onion, potato sticks and melted Swiss cheese. Rice and bean bowls bring pork butt, chicken seasoned with house sofrito, and fish of the day. On the sweeter side are Nutella and guava & cheese empanadas. Food is served through a window with limited seating out front. Service is friendly and accomodating. - Thomas Rafael Neighborhood: Gowanus Hours: 11am-9pm Entree Price: $10-15 Takeout:Yes Delivery: Yes Payment: Accepts Credit Cards Latest Cititour News
