A new restaurant specializing in hand rolls can now be found on Carmine Street in Greenwich Village. Nami Nori is offering everything from snacks, including Shishito Peppers with smoked miso honey, to appetizers like Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. The Temaki menu includes signature hand rolls like Tuna Poke with crispy shallots, Chilli Sea Bass with daikon, perilla and chojang, and X.O. Scallop with tobiko and lemon. There are also vegan options like Ginger Scallion Squash and crunchy varieties like Spicy Crab Dynamite. On the high end, look for Lobster Tempura and Toro + Scallion. Caviar and truffles are extra. Craft beers, sake and wine are available along with Temaki Ice Cream for dessert. The team behind Nami Nori are three Masa veterans - Taka Sakaeda, Jihan Lee and Lisa Limb. Masa Takayama is the only 3-star Michelin sushi chef in the country. The restaurant, which seats 40, features two light-wood bars. It is inpired by modern beach houses and traditional Japanese residences.
