If you are looking for some old world diner charm, try the Narrows Coffee Shop in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The place has a homey feel and the owners seem to know all of the regulars by name. Prices also appear to be stuck in time. When's the last time you saw a Cheeseburger Deluxe for $5.60? There are hot open sandwiches including turkey, roast beef ant pastrami served with potato and vegetable, along with a nice assortment of club sandwiches. But most people come here for breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, french toast and omelettes are offered along with egg sandwiches starting at $1.70 and topping out at $7 for steak and eggs. Visitors will also find milkshakes, malteds and ice cream sodas, along with pie a la mode. Service is quick and friendly. A wonderful spot that won't bust the budget. We couldn't find one item topping ten bucks. The Narrows Coffee Shop is open from 6am to 4pm Monday thru Friday and 3pm on Saturdays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
