Oishi is an inviting spot for noodle dishes in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The restaurant which emerged during the pandemic is a modern space with large sharing tables and a nice assortment of house-made soups, noodle and rice dishes.
One highlight is the Homemade Pork Belly Ramen which Is quite wonderful. The pork belly is rich and unctuous, and melts into your mouth. It arrives with a large bowl of ramen in a rich bone broth with scallions, nori, bean sprouts, corn and coddled egg. It definitely hits the spot. Niku Udon brings savory beef brisket to the table with tender onions in a Hun Tsuyu broth. Other dishes include kara’age chicken and ebi shrimp buns, rock shrimp tempura and roasted unagi (eel) with red ginger and togarashi.
House cocktails include the Shangai Margarita (tequila, ginger, cointreau, agave necktar and lime), and Ten Paces (old gunfighter bourbon, kaphroaig, italicus, angostura bitters and cherry).
