Osamil is a lively spot in K-Town where crowds can be found feasting on oysters and Korean fried chicken wings. It's loud and boisterous, but enter a side door and walk up a narrow flight of stairs and here you will find Osamil Upstairs. This tranquel spot, with a speakeasy feel, features a 12-seat reservations only bar with cocktails by mixologist Gelo Honrade (Osamil, Jeepney). An adjacent space offers table seating where guests can share a drink behind sheer curtains, and there's another area in the back for dining. A Spanish Gin and Tonic made with Empress gin, Caribbean pineapple, lime juice and Mediterranean arrives in a goblet with a giant ice ball. The bright, neon purple concoction is served with dehydrated lime and micro orchids floating on top. It's stunning. The Millionaire, the most expensive drink on the menu at $31, combines Hennessy XO, Redemption high rye, coconut ube syrup, chocolate mole bitters, purple yam ice cube and toasted coconut. There's a coffee-infused whisky cocktain called Jamo, and another mixing pisco, tequila, bell pepper and, yes, fish sauce. Osamil Upstairs is a true New York experience. Just be sure to reserve a space and find the secret entrance.
