Details: Husband-and-wife team, Chef Dimitri Voutsinas and Christine Argao-Voutsinas, fell in love with crispy cutlets known as katsu during their trips to Japan. Now they've created a restaurant on the Lower East Side dedicated to it. Otaku Katsu, located at 137 Rivington, is taking this Japanese favorite to a new level with pork, chicken, fish and vegetable options, as well a “BEC” Katsu which includes a runny duck egg with bechamel, smoked bacon and Swiss cheese. Other offerings include Big Bacon (grilled mirin bacon, lettuce, tomato andkimchi mayo) and Spam Onigiriazu (Spam, tamago and sweet soy). Diners will also find sides like Grilled Corn (with miso butter, shiso, and togarashi) and for dessert, soft serve ice cream in seasonal flavors like Sweet Cream, Lemonade, and Miso Chocolate. >> Neighborhood: Lower East Side Payment: Accepts Credit Cards Latest Cititour News
