Peppercorn Kitchen, in Greenwich Village, is serving up bowls of fresh vegetables and glass noodles in chicken broth. The vegetables include potato, lotus root, wood ear mushrooms and Napa cabbage. The dish, called Mala Tang, is served with your choice of beef, lamb, spam and fish. Other offerings include Sichuan Fries - crinkle-cut fries flavored with cumin, peppercorns, chili peppers and scallions. Pork dumplings also get a dose of chili sauce. For dessert, there is Sichuan jelly with peanut, raisin and haw flakes.
