A casual home away from home. That's how Chef Vincent Fraissange and his wife, Cat Alexander, envision their new restaurant, Phaesant, in East Williamsburg. The Coastal-Mediterranean menu features simple, honest cooking with seasonal ingredients. Look for dishes like Lemon Sardines, Wild Gulf Shrimp with chili in a buttery wine sauce, Crispy Chicken Wings with smoked chilies & yogurt, and Roasted Octopus. A refurbished ornate door from the 1920s serves as the entry to the space with a lush mix of live plants. An outside garden beneath a purple-leaf plum tree is available for dining during warmer months.
