DC-based &Pizza arrives in NoMad serving up its individual pies made right before your eyes. Order one of the house specials or design your own. First pick your dough, sauce, veggies, meats, and cheeses and then watch as the pie goes through a conveyor oven. The result is a crispy elongated pie that could easily feed two. Add some parmesan and a special sauce and you're done. The staff works quickly and the whole process takes just a few minutes. Specialty pies, or The Hits, include "American Honey" with pepperoni & hot honey, and the "Gnarlic," a white cheese pie with garlic ricotta, mozzarella, grilled onion, pesto and garlic sauce. Interesting soft drinks like Cherry Bomb, Pear & Fig Elixer, and Ginger Berry Lemonade are sold, along with desserts by Milk. The staff, referred to as "the tribe," is friendly and helpful. Is it New York City pizza? No. It's DC pizza and, judging by the crowd, that's not such a bad thing.
