Tapas inspired by the Mediterranean are captured at Plado Tasting Bar in the East Village. Chef and owner German Rizzo is showing off his Southern Italian roots with dishes like Fried Baby Artichokes, Romanesco "Tater" Tots and Quinoa Arancini stuffed with ricotta and baby kale. Lamb Meatballs come with a parmigiano crisp and yogurt-cucumber dressing. The NY Strip Steak is served with a polenta-potato mash & caramelized onions. Charred Octopus gets cous-cous with spicy mango chutney. Dessert brings house-made doughnuts and "popcorn cremino" with spicy hazelnuts and bourbon syrup. There's also a lengthy wine list, as well as, craft beers and specialty cocktails. The tapas menu is designed to be shared by friends and family.
