Cititour Review:

When you enter Poulette on the Upper West Side the first thing that hits you is the wonderful aroma of rosemary and thyme. The next thing is the rotisserie where plump chickens can be seen slowly roasting until golden brown.  We ordered a whole chicken.  It arrived smothered in fresh herbs and spices imported from France.  The meat was perfectly tender and made for a wonderful meal.

The restaurant does a brisk takeout business, but you can also eat in.  Given the quality, expect to pay a little more.  A quarter chicken sells for $6; $11 for a half and $18 for a whole chicken.  The family dinner is the way to go.  It includes a whole bird and four sides for $35.  Side dishes include things like ratatouille, mashed potatoes, quinoa with kale and brussels sprouts.

Poulette (which means young chicken in French) also offers salads, including a chicken caesar, along with chicken wings cooked three different ways, a poulette sandwich and chicken soup. All of the food is cooked in small batches and made fresh daily.  Très bien!
