Details: Spice it up at Red Peony, Connie Zhang’s Midtown restaurant specializing in upscale Shanghai cuisine. Zhang also owns Royal Queen in Flushing, the largest Chinese restaurant in the country. Red Peony gets its name from the national flower of China, also referred to as the “king of flowers.” Look for a mix of Sichuan and Cantonese dishes in a space designed to evoke old Shanghai. Located in the former Joe’s Shanghai space, everything about the restaurant is new with the exception of Joe’s signature soup dumplings, a neighborhood favorite. Other dishes include Shanghai Spring Rolls, King Crab, Whole Fish in hot spicy oil, Crispy Flounder, Lobster with ginger & scallion, and Peking Duck. >> Neighborhood: West 50s Hours: Mon-Sun 11:30am - 09:30pm Latest Cititour News
