Rickshaw Dumpling has set up its second shop just blocks from NYU making it the perfect spot for students to fill up on the cheap. It's a stylish location with blonde wooden tables in full view of the working kitchen, with its huge stainless steel pots belching out clouds of steam.Review By: Thomas Rafael
Just like the Flatiron location, this spot allows you to make a meal out of an order of dumplings or make the dumplings your meal. The dumplings come in six favors ranging from classic pork and chive to shrimp and scallion. Prices starts at $5.55 for six or $7.77 for nine. From there you can build. For instance, you can add on a soy vinaigrette salad ($3.33 extra) or maybe a peanut sate soup ($3.33). We sampled the grilled Peking Duck dumplings. They were nice and juicy and arrived piping hot (watch out!). Next time, we'll add on the Shiitake Mushroom Soup with hints of star anise and cinnamon to turn them into a meal.
You'll also want to try the Chocolate Shanghai Soup dumplings ($1.50 each) bursting with melted chocolate. It's a very nice treat!
