Sick of all that gringo Mexican food? Then why not go where the Mexican's go. Along fifth avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn there are tons of traditional Mexican restaurants to choose from. One of our favorites is Rico's Taco's. If you can get past the look of the place, the food is actually among the best in the area. The tacos made with cecina, grilled steak and chicken are excellent, as are the gorditas topped with sour cream and salsa verde, a green sauce made from chilis, garlic and green tomatoes. You can't beat the price. Small taco's cost just one buck when you buy three. The only difficulty may be dealing with the Spanish-speaking staff if you're a gringo like me.
