A wine bar and coffee bar all wrapped into one. That is the idea behind Jay Nir's River Coyote on the Lower East Side. The coffee is from Nobletree which grows its own beans in Brazil and roasts them in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Customers can also get to see the baristas in action. On the wine side, there are 16 wines on tap at any given time (8 reds, 8 whites) from boutique wineries in Italy, France, California and New York. Local craft beers, cider and kombucha are also available on tap. In fact, except for one Kosher wine, River Coyote is bottle-free greatly cutting down on waste. Snacks are also served from nearby Saxelby Cheesemongers along with baked goods from Dough. Dinner brings Bronzino Ceviche, Housemade Gnocchi, and Lamb Chuzo, an Ecuadorian dish served on skewers.
