Cititour Review:
I'm usually not a fan of assembly line cuisine. You know the kind of place where all of the ingredients are lined up, quickly mixed together, and poof your meal has arrived. But Se Ja Meh has changed me. Yes, you can have quality food quickly. First, a little bit about the place. It's in a location that used to house a crepe shop across from Lucy Mexican Barbecue . The restaurant has limited seating and is quite modern with its chrome-like beach chairs. The food, for the most part, is served in tins and plastic containers. It kinda reminded me of airline food, only this is anything but airline food. I was lured by the Sulong Tang ($6.95), a traditional Korean bone marrow soup. The soup is cooked for hours giving it an almost milky texture. Unfortunately, I arrived to see the last bowl being sold. So, I settled for the beef soup, which for $3 was big enough for an entire meal. The delicious clear beef broth came packed with slices of tender beef, egg and scallion. The Korean dumplings, known as Mandoo, were equally delicious. Six of these tender morsels sell for $3.25. We tried the beef, but they are also available stuffed with seafood or vegetables. Also on the menu are Korean delicacies like Japchae ($9.95), clear glass noodles with beef and mixed vegetables, and Galbi Chim ($15.95), braised beef short ribs in a sweet marinade. You'll also find several varieties of Bibimbop, a Korean-style stir fry, and an Asian Pear Salad ($4.50) in a citrus miso dressing. It's not often that you take an immediate shine to a place. But when the food shines, it's much easier.
