The Silver Swan is one of the true German Restaurants left in the city, where the selection of food is topped only by the tantalizing assortment of German beers, many of which you'll find on tap. The atmosphere is friendly, but a bit loud. Not the sort of place for a romantic evening, but definitely worth a visit for the food. We feasted on pickled herring, crispy potato pancakes and wiener schnitzel (fried breaded veal cutlet) that was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. Wash it down with a fine German or Czechoslovakian pilsner and you're set. Also on the menu; duck, goose, pot roast, meat loaf and German sausages. Dinner for two with appetizer and two pints of beer ran about $75. Major credit cards accepted.
