At the corner on Albany Avenue and Pacific Street in Crown Heights, you will find Smack Grill, a front-yard BBQ joint selling North Carolina-style barbecue. Here you will find the pitmaster manning two smokers on Saturdays filled wth pecan wood smoked chicken and ribs. A container of water on the grill helping to keep the ribs moist. A slab sells for $7, while the chicken goes for $5, along with some "Famous BBQ Sauce." During our visit people were lining as smoke wafted down Pacific Street like a calling card for some truly homemade barbecue.
