While Mayor Bloomberg might want you to cut down on sweets, a new place called Smush is making that very difficult. Located just outside of Bryant Park, Smush is serving up make-your-own gourmet ice cream sandwiches at its "New York Deli of Desserts." The come with names like "Sloppy Mo" and "Peanut Butter & Yummy," or you can design your own.
And while the sandwich part may resemble a square waffle, it's actually a cookie in flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter and dark chocolate. You also get to pick from a large selection toppings and sauces. Then comes the fun part: making it.
- French toast cookie. Check.
- Crushed pretzels. Check.
- Caramel. Check.
- Strawberry ice cream. Check.
- Vanilla fudge (which resembles a slice of cheese). Check. Check.
And that's what it takes to Smush. The result is a tasty treat that even the Mayor might not be able to resist. You can eat it on their very own brownstone steps or just head to the park.
