Chef Massimo Sola is bringing his passion for pasta to SoHo with Sola Pasta Bar. Like a maestro leading an orchestra, Chef Sola navigates through billowing puffs of steam to create individual pasta dishes from an open-air kitchen creating an intimate experience between chef and guest. A handful of different pastas are offered daily. We sampled a pasta dish with shrimp and clams that arrived perfectly al dente. Fresh and dried pastas are offered, along with gluten-free options. Sola Pasta Bar promises farm fresh ingredients, including basil imported from Liguria, red garlic from Abruzzo and vine-ripened tomatoes from Compania, Italy. The centerpiece of the restaurant is the kitchen surrounded by stools and several tables on each side. Chef Sola has worked in some of the most celebrated kitchens in the world and earned a Michelin star at his restaurant in his hometown of Varese. Now, he is bringing that love of Italian food to New York City.
