Cititour Review:

Your eye is immediately drawn to Sushi of Gari 46 on restaurant row. From its beautiful flower arrangements to its minimalist design and well lit sushi bar as its showcase. Four chefs in white ready to serve creations that are truly works of art. Fresh slices of tuna, carved into thick triangles, are meticulously drizzled with a wasabi sauce. Tempura shrimps look like giant snowflakes leaning against a tempura leaf. Then there was the Hamaguri, a single clam sitting at the bottom of a bowl of clear broth. It’s all about presentation here. And this is where Sushi of Gari 46 really shines. We LOVED the fried oyster roll. It was crunchy and flavorful with a tangy sauce. Yellowtail with scallion was fresh and fabulous. Tuna arrived nice and fatty. The only disappointment was the snow crab. It came attached to the shell and was stringy. For the most part, sushi and sashimi is served in combinations ranging from $22 to $45, but an a la carte menu will be provided if you ask. You’ll also find a nice selection of sake at rather steep prices. And if you’d like to sit at the sushi bar, make a reservation. We tried three times, and each time we were told it was booked. Sushi of Gari 46 offers both style and substance. Its location in the theatre district makes it a perfect stop before or after a show.
