What do you get when you mix sushi with a burrito? The Sushirrito of course. That is what this Flatiron spot is doing as part of the niche casual dining explosion. The sushirritos come with names like The Porkivore made with pork belly, chicharron, shredded cabbage, ginger quac and cilantro. Then there's the Mayan Dragon which involves a mix of crispy chicken Katsu, purple potatoes, julienned carrot and sliced jalapeños. My personal favorite is the Sumo Crunch. It's shrimp tempura with surimi crab, shaved cabbage, cucumbers and guac rolled in rice and red tempura tempura flakes. It's the perfect combination of sushi and a burrito.
