Details: Ramen lovers will want to check out Tatsu. This LA implant is known for its Tonkotsu broth prepared fresh daily in its open kitchen. The East Village spot, located near 10th Street and First Avenue, has a simplistic feel with wooden sharing tables and counter seating. Diners place their orders via iPad (including tip) before being seated. Several different types of ramen are offered, including Soul Ramen with black garlic sauce, Bold Ramen which comes with a warning, “not for the timid,” and Old Skool which arrived with several pieces of thinly-sliced pork that melts in your moth. Cloves of garlic are offered table-side like sugar cubes along with your own personal garlic press. Free corn is also available for the asking. Tatsu is a welcome addition to New York’s noodle scene.
