Cititour Review:

A fresh dining experience in Tribeca. Thalassa is classy. Its space big and bold - complimenting its big and bold tastes from Greece. Tall ceilings are brought down by a flowing path of white canvas resembling the sail of a giant ship. The look is fitting since it is the seafood that really shines. Order by the dish or by the fish which are kept on ice and on display. Your dining experience begins with an assortment of fresh olives served with sprigs of thyme and rosemary, and fresh olive bread with a special imported olive oil from Crete for dipping. Be careful though, or you might be full before your meal arrives. Among the appetizers; tender grilled baby squids stuffed with feta and tomato, and topped with fresh herbs. Absolutely amazing! A seafood salad of lobster, shrimp and scallops, while extremely fresh, paled in comparison. Among the meat dishes; lamb shank fricasse and a venison chop with Stifado sauce. Dessert includes chocolate and fig baklava. Also expect to find an extensive wine list since the owner is a Greek wine merchant. The Greek beer, Aris, is also worth trying. Thalassa is a real treat from its delicious foods to its friendly service. A wonderful edition to its upscale neighbors; Nobu and The Harrison. Enjoy!
