Cititour Review:

Rogers Avenue in Crown Heights used to be a no-man's land.  But that is changing fast, thanks to restaurants like the The Food Sermon where you will find people lining up for its lively Caribbean fare.  All of the food is cooked in a spotless open-air kitchen where Chef Rawlson Williams runs a tight ship.  Space is also tight with some counter seating and a bench out front.

Dishes arrive in large bowls filled with things like fall-off-the-bone tender braised oxtail and grilled chicken livened up with island spices.  The only thing better is the coconut-ginger sauce surrounding it.  Roasted salmon, pan-seared tofu and lamb shank are also available.   Roti, a traditional flat bread, is topped with curried goat or go vegetarian with sweet potato, chickpeas and avocado.  Caribbean teas, called thirst quenchers, get a taste of Trinidad with mauby and sorrel.

The Food Sermon will have you singing its praises.
