As soon as you walk into The Jive Turkey you know there's lots of love around and lots of good food too. In the window on our visit was a plump bird wrapped in pecans with a honey glaze. It is just one of a number of turkeys available. There is a Garlic Roasted Turkey, the Peking Turkey with a teriyaki glaze and the Buffalo Turkey with a tangy buffalo sauce. In all, 15 varieties of deep fried turkey are offered. But the specialty of the house and one you SHOULD NOT MISS is the Jive Turkey, seasoned only with salt and pepper. It is the most tender and juiciest bird I've tasted. We tried the Fried Turkey Sandwich. It is heaven on earth served on challah bread with lettuce, tomato and havarti cheese. At under six bucks it was quite the treat. Jive Turkey, owned and operated by Aricka Westbrooks, offers a great way to serve deep-fried turkey without the hassle or the dangers of dipping a bird in a pot of boiling oil. And it's not just for Thanksgiving. Whole turkeys can be ordered throughout the year and range in price from $65 to $75. And its not just turkey, slow roasted BBQ ribs are so tender that the meat falls off the bone. We were truly impressed with Jive Turkey and that's no jive!
