Details: Michelle Ewan, who ran the Penguin Cafe in Scotland, and Kevin Noccioli, formerly of Masa and Craft, have teamed up to create The Longshoreman on the Brooklyn waterfront. Together they are relying on fresh, seasonal ingredients to give their menu a pop with "shared" dishes like Shishito Peppers with calabrian chili and caper-mint aioli; Fresh Bread with sea salt, ricotta della casa and honey; and Fennel with orange, pine nuts and parmesan. There are housemade pastas including Pappardelle with sausage and shiitake mushrooms, as well as Tagliatelle Cacio e Pepe with sea urchin, black pepper and pecorino. Several wood-fired brick oven pizzas are offered ranging from Grilled Artichoke with fontina and mozzarella di bufala to Wild Mushroom, and Proscuitto de Parma. Larger plates include Steak for Two, a NY Strip with duck fat potatoes, Pork Chop with hand-cut fries, and House Burger with Grafcon 3-year cheddar, green tomato, onion ring and pesto aioli. A Late Night Happy Hour is also avalable from 8pm till closing. Neighborhood: Columbia Street Waterfront District Leave a Comment |
